    New features

    • Guided image generation - Chat ▸ Generate Image… (or the new quick-access button in the input bar, for models that support it) opens a dialog that adapts to the selected model: a resolution and aspect ratio picker appears only when the model actually offers those options, plus a reference-image picker (up to 14 images) for image-to-image editing where supported. An optional Prompt Builder section (Subject, Setting, Style, Lighting, Composition) helps compose a prompt from scratch if you're not sure where to start - it's just a writing aid, not a required step.
    • Send feedback from inside the app - /feedback, or Help ▸ Send Confab Feedback to Developer…, opens a form to report a bug, request a feature, or ask a question. It's filed directly as an issue on Confab's own issue tracker, along with your app and macOS version - no account or sign-up needed.
    • JSON export - File ▸ Export as JSON… (and /export json) joins the existing Markdown/HTML/PDF export options, with an optional checkbox to include full tool-call details (inputs and results) for the current session, when available.
    • External MCP Servers show what they offer - Each configured server in Settings now shows how many tools it exposes and their names, instead of just its command line, so you can tell at a glance what it actually connects you to.
    • Liquid Glass adoption completed - Following on from last release's first phase, every remaining screen (sheet footers, approval dialogs, search bars, status badges, and more) now uses macOS 26's Liquid Glass design language consistently throughout the app.
    • Small polish - Tooltips were added to 13 icon-only buttons that previously had no visible label or hint; every hidden API key/token/password field across Settings now shows a consistent show/hide eye icon (some previously had no way to reveal them at all); a new Show/Hide Sidebar shortcut (⌃⌘S) was added; and links inside the AI's replies now have their own color and underline instead of blending into the surrounding text.

    Bug fixes & improvements

    • Apple Intelligence: "context limit exceeded" on every message, fixed for real - Two separate causes, both fixed: the token budget wasn't accounting for the smaller context window on non-beta macOS 26, and a large block of internal tool-usage instructions meant for other providers was still being sent to Apple's on-device model even though its own tool-calling doesn't use it. Also tightened up disambiguation between reading live Mail and searching your Paperless document archive, after a test showed the wrong one being picked for a "what's my newest email" style question.
    • MCP's "off" toggle now actually disables file access - Turning MCP off in Settings didn't fully stop file access if any other integration (Mail, Paperless, Bash, etc.) was also active - the file tools themselves weren't checking the toggle. Fixed.
    • Bash Execution's working directory is now actually enforced - The configured working directory only ever set where a command started, not what it could touch - a command referencing an absolute path outside it could still reach anywhere your account can, approval or not. Commands that reach outside the configured directory now get a distinct, clearly-labeled warning in the approval dialog, separate from normal approval.
    • A failed model restore now shows a real alert - Loading a saved conversation that can't restore its original model (e.g. a missing API key) used to only leave a note in the chat that was easy to miss. It now shows a proper alert dialog.
    • Saved-conversation search inside collapsed folders - Searching used to silently find nothing for a match sitting inside a collapsed folder, in both the sidebar and the "Open Chat…" browser. Fixed in both places.
    • Confab's window reappears reliably - Clicking the Dock icon or using Cmd-Tab when Confab had no window open at all (not just an off-screen one) previously did nothing. It now reopens a window, matching normal Mac app behavior.
    • Footer text (message count, tokens, cost) now truncates with "…" instead of wrapping onto multiple lines when the sidebar is open.
    • Corrected the Help shortcut shown in-app and in the Help Book - it now correctly notes that the exact key combination shown for Help depends on your keyboard layout, rather than showing one fixed (and sometimes wrong) version.
    • The Jarvis tab in Settings now explains what Jarvis is and links to its documentation even before you've turned it on.
    • Continued translation catch-up - Several more categories of previously-untranslated text were found and fixed this release, including in-chat system messages, error messages, and some settings screens Rune spotted while using the Norwegian version directly. As always, translations are AI-generated - if anything reads oddly in your language, reach out via Send Confab Feedback to Developer… in the Help menu (see above!).
